The combined travel services you are offered constitute a package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302. Therefore, you are subject to all EU rights applicable to package travel. Öland Bike Rental will be fully responsible for the proper fulfilment of the package tour as a whole. In addition, Öland Bike Hire has legal protection to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation if it or they become insolvent. Read more about the Package Travel Act further down.

Accompanying children under the age of 15 must wear a bicycle helmet.

Contracted time that is not used will not be reimbursed.

If you wish to cancel, you must notify us at least 48 hours in advance. For example, if your booking starts on a Thursday, you must cancel by Tuesday. You will receive a refund of 90 % of the amount paid. If you cancel later than 48 hours before the arrival date, you will not receive a refund.

Full insurance of the bike is included for normal use, but not any insurance for clothing or personal injury.

You must report any damage to your bike to ÖC.

In case of late return of the bike, you will be reimbursed 4 times the cost of the extended time.

All rental activities are at your own risk. ÖC assumes no responsibility for personal injury or damage to clothing that may occur during the rental period.

Be prepared to show identification when collecting the bike/product. It is sufficient that one person in the party over 18 years of age can provide identification.

Otherwise, the Distance Selling Act applies.

In accordance with the Data Protection Act, you must authorise ÖC to register your data. You have the right to have your data deleted.

ÖC follows the recommendations of the General Complaints Board in the event of a dispute.

You authorise ÖC to send you booking confirmation emails and follow-up emails. We will not send you newsletters or other emails after your visit with us.

By accepting these purchase conditions, a binding contract is created when the payment is made.

Key rights under Directive (EU) 2015/2302:

Travellers will receive all essential information about the package holiday before concluding the package travel contract.

There is always at least one trader responsible for the correct fulfilment of all travel services included in the contract.

Travellers are given an emergency telephone number or details of a contact point where they can get in touch with the organiser or travel agent.

Travellers may transfer the package to another person, with reasonable notice and possibly at an additional cost.

The price of the package may only be increased if specific costs increase (e.g. fuel prices), and if this is explicitly stated in the contract, and in any case no later than 20 days before the start of the package. If the price is increased by more than 8 % of the price of the package, the traveller may terminate the contract. If the organiser reserves the right to increase the price, the traveller is entitled to a price reduction if the relevant costs decrease.

Travellers can terminate the contract without paying a cancellation fee and receive a full refund of all payments if any of the essential elements of the package, other than the price, change significantly. If the trader responsible for the package cancels the package before the start of the package, travellers are entitled to a refund and compensation, if applicable.

In exceptional circumstances, travellers can terminate the contract before the start of the package without paying a cancellation fee, for example in case of serious security problems at the destination that are likely to affect the package.


If significant parts of the package cannot be provided according to the contract after the start of the package, suitable alternative arrangements must be offered at no extra cost. Travellers may terminate the contract without paying a cancellation fee if the services are not performed in accordance with the contract and this substantially affects the performance of the package and the organiser does not remedy the problem.

Travellers are also entitled to a price reduction and/or compensation for damage if the travel services are not performed or are performed poorly.

The organiser must provide support if the traveller is in difficulty; if the organiser or, in some Member States, the retailer becomes insolvent, payments will be refunded.

If the organiser or, where applicable, the retailer becomes insolvent after the start of the package and if transport is included in the package, the repatriation of the travellers is ensured.

Travellers may contact this unit or, where applicable, the competent authority Kammarkollegiet, Birger Jarlsgatan 16, 114 34 Stockholm, 08-700 08 00, registratur@kammarkollegiet.se if services are not provided as a result of Ölands cykeluthyrning's insolvency.
